Scope

This standard specifies the safety of heated gutters for roof drainage for domestic and similar purposes. This standard applies to electrically heated gutters for appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V for deicing gutters in gutters of roofs, balconies or similar structures. The various appliances covered by this standard present common hazards that all persons may encounter in the home and its surroundings. In general, however, this section does not address: people (including young children) due to: physical, sensory, or mental abilities; or lack of experience or knowledge. Hazards when appliances cannot be used safely without supervision or instruction; Situations where appliances are played by young children.
