This standard specifies three test methods for determining the tear strength of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber, namely: method A: using trouser-shaped specimens; method B: using right-angled specimens, notched or not; method C: using Notched crescent-shaped specimen. The tear strength value is related to the shape of the specimen, the tensile speed, the test temperature and the calendering effect of the vulcanized rubber.
