This standard deals with the limits of harmonic currents injected into public low-voltage power supply systems. This section specifies the limits of the harmonic components that may be generated by the input current of the equipment under the specified test conditions. Harmonic components are measured in accordance with Appendix A and Appendix B. This section applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended to be connected to the public low-voltage power supply system with an input current of no more than 16A per phase. Non-dedicated arc welding equipment, whose input current per phase is not greater than 16A, also falls within the scope of this part. The relevant provisions of special arc welding equipment are given in IEC 60974-1, which is not covered in this part, and the relevant installation requirements are given in GB/Z 17625.6 (IEC 61000-3-4). The tests carried out in accordance with this standard are type tests. The test conditions for special equipment are given in Appendix C. Limits for systems with nominal voltages lower than 220V (phase voltage) have not been considered.
